| Organisation | Description |
| Regular Coastal Habitat Cleans with Marine Society | Help protect St Andrew’s coastal habitats through monthly clean-up events that are open to everyone. Engage in hands-on conservation. Help also to carry out monthly surveys of species and debris to gauge impact. |
| St Andrews Botanical Gardens | Help maintain diverse gardens through hands-on planting, harvesting, and maintaining 8,000 species – open to everyone. Get involved in planning/leading trials, events, and activities to educate children and adults on plant biodiversity. One-off events available. |
| St Andrews Volunteer Services | Get involved with various volunteering projects (animals, environment, community) organised by a Union subcommittee, open to all students. Includes maintaining green spaces, planting trees, scuba diving, and marine conservation. |
| Rewilding at Kinkell Byre | Anyone can help this venue (15 mins from St Andrews) increase biodiversity. Volunteer by monitoring rewilding progress (monthly photo documentation), doing bird surveys (walking transects), and helping run the Highland Cow experience (discussing your role). |
| FIFE Coast and Countryside Trust (FCCT) | Anyone can volunteer at over 70 Fife sites (incl. Eden Estuary). Activities: scrub/path clearing, grassland/woodland management, invasive species removal. Aims to create a safe, fun learning environment, help meet people and connect with nature. Also hosts events (wildlife walks, tree planting). |
| Your Own Garden with the Woodland Trust | Make your student, or home, garden biodiverse by following guidelines from the woodland trust. Plant local plants/wildflowers, use a bird feeder/bath, keep compost. Even caring for a garden tree can help support ~2000 species! |
| Buglife Scotland | Anyone can help conserve invertebrates (insects, jellyfish etc.). Volunteers, interns, and job-seekers welcome. Roles include organising fundraising or hands-on field conservation. |
| National Trust for Scotland | Anyone can help conserve Scotland’s nature and heritage. Volunteer to maintain castles, tend gardens/natural landscapes, and support wildlife. |
